Vadodara: Two chemical company workers at Nandesari GIDC were found dead in suspicious conditions at the company’s factory in early Sunday.
The police suspect that the duo identified as Bhavesh Shah (45) and Alpesh Padhyar (24) may have died due to gas leaks.
According to police, Shah and Padhyar were found unconsciously around 3.18 in the morning at the factory located on GIDC plantations in Nandesari.
The two workers were taken to a private hospital in Chhani, but the doctors claimed they were dead before entering.
“We are waiting for the post-mortem examination report to find out the exact cause of death, but it is suspected that they might have breathed some of the poisonous gases that leaked,” said a police officer.
Then, during the day, scientific experts also visited the factory to check what happened at the early hours that lead to death.
Incidental death cases have been registered at the Nandesari police station.
“We are investigating it as an unintentional death.
A dozen other workers who also work in the same factory will also be questioned because only these two employees are affected while no one else complained about health problems,” Police Officials said.
During the initial probe, it was revealed that Shah, a Nandesari resident, worked in the company as a plant operator for more than three years and Padhiyar, who lived in Anklav in neighboring Anand countries, had joined the company about two weeks as contract workers.
