Madurai: Rain in the catch of water produces the surface of the water in the Vaigai Dam increases and with the first flood warning, the second flood warning is expected to be issued on Wednesday morning.
The southern district has experienced a short rain for the past few days, and the climate remains cloudy.
In Theni Regency, the Big Dam’s catch received moderate to heavy rainfall, producing a flow of entry to the dam.
Vaigai Dam Water Level has floated about 65 feet since the first week of June this year and the first flood warning was issued in the district-district twice in the past two months.
It was released on May 27 and now again on July 9, when the water surface of the dam passes the 66ft sign.
The water level in the Vaigai Dam stood at 68.29ft against the maximum level of 71FT at 8 am on Tuesday.
The first flood warning was issued for the Vaigai River when the dam water surface crossed 66 feet, the second when touching 68.5 feet and the third at 69 feet.
Meanwhile, when the outflow descends the level does not increase as expected on Tuesday night.
The catch of the Mullasyar dam has received heavy rainfall over the past few days which resulted in inflow to increase and reach 1717 cusecs on Tuesday.
It produces dam water surfaces up to 130.05 feet at 8am and 1,200 cusecs removed from it.
