Two Indian Railways – Rail Coach Factory (RCF) (RCF) (RCF) and Modern Coach Factory (MCF) Raebarelli – must make some big and small changes before starting the Vande Bharat train.
The source told Ti that the production of Vande Bharat train in RCF and MCF will only begin in the next financial year.
In this year’s independence day speech, PM Modi has announced 75 Trains Vande Bharat to connect major cities in August 2023.
National Transporter has contracted for 44 trains to Medha Servo and now serves another 58 tender Vande Bharat Rakes.
The aim is to launch more than 100 sets of train Vande Bharat Express in March 2024.
Two Vande Bharat train was first launched by the Chennai Integral Coach (ICF) factory.
The majority of 102 Train Vande Bharat will be produced by the ICF.
Of the order of 44 rakes, 24 will be made at the ICF while 10 rakes 16 cars each will be produced at MCF and RCF.
According to new tenders floating, 30 rakes will be made in ICF and 14 each at RCF and MCF.

“The two coach factories will be ready to make the Vande Bharat train next year.
That is when the ICF will issue the first prototype of the newly improved Vande Bharat train,” said the source.
The train set must be tested with all 16 trainers, who will need a wider test line.
“In addition, Vande Bharat’s shell and the fabrikation is slightly different,” added the source.
The Vande Bharat train runs on distributed traction fundamentals – therefore the train set does not require a locomotive to transport it.
The train set allows acceleration and a faster slowdown – producing lower travel time.
The first two Vande Bharat train between Delhi-Varanasi and Delhi-Katra have reduced the journey of 11-12 hours to only 8 hours.
The new Vande Bharat Express train will also be an air-conditioned seat car service, but with additional features.
Some of these are included; Protection for Underslung equipment from floods, ventilation up to 3 hours if there is a power failure, the return of features for lying chairs, four instead of 2 emergency push buttons per trainer, bacterial-free ac system, disaster window for evacuation, in the case of lamp failure and coach monitoring system centralized etc.
