Varanasi Claims Top Ranking in Kayakalp Operations

Lucknow: The constituency of Prime Minister Narendra Modi Varanasi emerged the top district above which saw the highest growth in completing elementary school and upon it with basic facilities under the operation of Vidyalaya Kayakalp.
The ambitious project from the government over this directs the acquisition of schools managed by the state by providing toilets, drinking water, furniture, wall limits on March 2022.
Ranking based on third-party surveys by the Prerna cellular application carried out by the Basic Education Department in September 2020, and August 2021, placed Varanasi in the first place with a score of 198.7.
Ghaziabad and Etawah stand second and third with their overall score of 189.7 and 171.8 respectively.
Lucknow was ranked sixth with a total growth score of 128.2.
The ranking shows that of 1,32,675 schools mapped in August, 2021, 5.3% (7,092) qualified for a five-star rating with a saturated OVK indicator above 90%.

The other 45% (60,142) the school reached a three-star assessment by meeting at least 50% of OVK indicators.

Director General, School Education, Anamika Singh said, “Operation Kayakalp is one of the largest inter-departmental programs targeted to ensure basic infrastructure facilities in government-managed schools.

“Although the assessment showed a significant increase – from 0.6% five stars and 3.3% of four-star schools last year to 5% five-star and 21.7% of these four-year-old schools – the target was still far away.
Singh has now set a new time bound target to ensure a 100% settlement before rising polls in 2022.
Citing Kayakalp operations as a government dream project monitored at a high level, Singh has instructed the basic district education officers to ensure 75%.
The OVK indicator saturation in November, 90% in December and 100% in January 2022.
