VARANASI: The Varanasi-Hanumana (MP boundary ) highway, a part of Varanasi-Kanyakumari nationwide highway-7, is shrouded in controversy nowadays.
The difficulty appeared when the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) ran the harmful testing to a bridge street assembled within the Belan lake.
It triggered an uproar in nearby circles using BJP leaders asserting the newly-constructed bridge has suffered extensive damage.
Refuting these fees, the NHAI has explained the confusion is due to because of debris left to the job site during the procedure for destructive testing that’s a regular procedure conducted before launching the street bridge for the public’s usage.
But, using the BJP leaders’ allegations, divisional commissioner, Mirzapur, Yogeshwar Ram Mishra has put up a group to research the issue.
The Rs 2,100 crores NH-7 job needs to be performed in 3 stages from May 2022.
Observing the prior testing, load testing and harmful testing performed by the NHAI over the recently constructed bridge around the Belan river at Lalganj-Hanumana part of this job lately, the local BJP leaders began asserting that street of this bridge has suffered harm.
BJP’s state operating committee member Manoj Srivastava explained,”I’d written to Union surface transportation and highways ministry Nitin Gadkari and commissioner on Saturday and demanded a probe into the issue.
It’s likely that carelessness through the testing procedure resulted in the damage” But, NHAI project manager, Mirzapur, RS Yadav stated that”a building firm which had assembled the bridge had requested NHAI on May 18 to run the non-destructive and damaging examinations that are required before launching it to the public use” The confusion began when engineers later conducting the evaluations on the Belan bridge abandoned the debris in the street, ” he added and said that watching the debris that the sailors began asserting that the recently constructed street had suffered harm.
Yadav stated that the testing typically takes a month’s period and components which got damaged through the harmful testing are mended from the functioning bureau.
After TOI contacted commissioner, ” he stated,”After getting the complaints I made a group of technical specialists to research the issue.
This group inspected the website and hasn’t found anything wrong” In accordance with Yadav, Varanasi-Hanumana street, that is an element of why Varanasi-Kanyakumari NH-7, has been converted to six and four lanes above 125-km extend from Tengra Mod (Ramnagar) from Varanasi into Hanumana onto MP border.
The Rs 2,100 crores job has been implemented in three stages, for example Lalganj-Hanumana phase-III of Rs 677 crores.
Work in the phase-III was launched in December 2018 having a goal to finish it in 35 weeks, he explained, adding that despite issues being confronted from the Covid days the job is near completion and that also in the recording time of 28 weeks.
The functions on phase-II was launched on August 19, whilst phase-I started overdue, ” he said adding that each of these stages would be finished by May 2022.
With the conclusion of the job the street involving Varanasi-Mirzapur is going to be called NH-35 and Mirzapur-Hanumana since NH-135, Yadav added and said that 45 percent of 125-km duration of the street has been converted to six-lane, whereas 55 percent is to four-lane.
