Varanasi: Geographical Indication Craftsmen (GI) Tagged Crafts has prepared many artifacts, including the newly built wood ‘rudraksha’ miniature, international cooperation Varanasi and convention center, for Gifting to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and esteemed guests from Japan during their visit to the city on Thursday.
This artifact has been submitted to the district government.
Under the GI guidance of Rajni Kant’s expert from the Human Welfare Association (HWA), a timber craftsmen team, including the National Merit Awardee Rameshwar Singh and the State Awardee Raj Kumar has prepared Rudraksha wooden models.
It took a week to complete the model, said craftsmen.
A steal prepared by local craftsmen to PM on Thursday other craftsmen also has something to offer.
Master Mumtaz Ali’s craftsmen from Lallapura Locality has prepared a unique ‘Angavastram’ (stealing) encrusted Rudraksha beads in the middle of a beautiful Zardozi work.

Kant said that this artifact was handed over to the district government.
“We hope that Rudraksha VCC will play an important role in promoting the arts and crafts this region globally,” he said.
Previously, local craftsmen also prepared many artifacts from complicated brocade, Gulabi Meenakari (pink sixelling), wood carvings and soft stone crafts work during the visit of Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe with Modi in December 2015.
‘Rudraksha’, a strong symbol of spiritual Lord Shiva, in his new avatar has emerged as a Varanasi International Cooperation and Convention Center (VCC), Indo-Japanese Friendship Architecture Symbol in the Old City of Millennia.
PM, which has placed the foundation stone in July 2018, will inaugurate the magic of this Indo-Japanese architecture on Thursday.
The Japanese Ambassador and the Authority of the International Japanese Cooperation Agency (JICA) are also expected to attend the event.
Rudraksha seeds sprinkled in Kyoto, where Modi and later Japanese colleagues Shinzo Abe has announced ambitious Kashi-Kyoto city agreements in August 2014.
The agreement was signed in front of the Mayor of Kyoto Daisaku Kadokawa and the Indian ambassador to Japan Deepa Gopalan Wadhwa.
The agreement refers to culture, art, academics, inheritance conservation and modernization of the city as a potential field of cooperation.
