New Delhi: After more than 1.4 Lakh young people in the 15-17 year age group were given a Covaxin vaccine in four days, Delhi’s government health officials and district authorities were preparing for the anti-covid amplifier to be given to senior citizens, worker health services and frontline workers from Monday.
Thursday saw 55,979 teenagers were given a vaccine until 5:30 a.m., a leap of around 54% from Wednesday, which took the calculation to 1,46,625.
It is estimated that 10 lakh individuals in groups 15-17 years and the Delhi government hopes they all have received the first dose of January-end.
“The children were enthusiastic about being vaccinated and the number grew on that day,” said a district official.
“With teen vaccination running smoothly, we will now begin preparing to manage ‘prevention doses’ for qualified beneficiaries.” He said that “backend and infrastructure” has been strengthened for those who will march from Monday for the third dose.
“There is enough stock from Covaxin and Covishield,” he added.
The official said that it was a strong information, education and communication program (IEC) program to create awareness about the need to receive all doses of vaccines.
“Our team is conducting a house-to-house survey today also creates awareness about the omicron variant,” he said.
In an all-out effort to ensure full vaccination, those with both doses are caused by being called and, if needed, advising to receive jabs on time.
Each district has established a call center for that purpose.
From Monday, January 10, those aged 60 years and above, health service workers and frontline workers will be eligible to take third shots or booster.
Individuals who have completed nine months, namely 39 weeks, because the second dose administration will be eligible for a booster dose from January 10.
On that date, around three beneficiaries will be eligible to queue to imitate Jab, according to government estimates.
“While the General IEC program has been going on, starting this weekend, more drive awareness will begin and will reach people who have completed nine months since their second vaccination,” the official said.
Health Minister Satyendar Jain recently said that the state government will ensure the right infrastructure and vaccination centers and vaccinate to vaccinate three lakh people per day.
He also assured that besides getting ready to vaccinate teenagers, Delhi also has a full stock of available booster doses.
