Nashik: The latest data on Covid-19 vaccination shows that five districts in Maharashtra Utara have coverage far below the country’s average.
On November 17, the average state of the first dose vaccination was more than 76% and almost 39% for the second dose.
Vaccination in Nashik, Ahmednagar, Dhule, Jalgaon District and Nandurbar are significantly lower than that.
In fact, Nandurbar is ranked at the bottom in the state.
Nandurbar District Health Officer, Dr.
Mahendra Chavan said that they hoped that vaccine coverage increased with door-to-door drives.
“We aim to vaccinate 70% of beneficiaries with at least the first dose at the end of this month,” he added.
The health authority of the region has blamed ‘vaccine doubt’ for low coverage.
In the city of Nashik, the health department official said that the beneficiaries of several bags still did not want to take vaccines.
In the Nashik district, the large Malegaon population has not taken their first dose.
The Covid-19 Dhule coordinator, Dr.
Vishal Patil, said that people will not come to take their shots when cases are reduced and everything returns to normal.
Jalgaon civilian surgeon Dr.
N S Chavan said even they had started the door vaccination program to the door.
