Bhubaneswar: Odisha on Sunday reached a milestone in the coverage of its vaccine, giving one jab for at least one crore that meets the requirements of people in the state.
While 1,00.12, 994 people have received the first dose, 22.15,352 have received the dose.
The state has 3.20 crore people who are eligible to receive vaccination.
Khurda Regency, which Bhubaneswar is part, has approached 18 lakh people, the highest among 30 districts, where more than 5 lakh has received both doses.
Bhubaneswar has vaccinated all the population which qualifies with the first dose and 50% with both doses.
Of the total coverage, 40,78,084 between the 18-44 age group had received a vaccine, in addition to 43,33,479 in the age group 45-60.
A little more than 38 lakh people in the 60 plus category have got a vaccine.
The country has so far been used 1.07.50.848 covishield doses other than 15 lakh doses of covaxin.
Those who were vaccinated include 66,09,517 men and women who rested.
Bijay Panigrahi, Director (family welfare) said speeding up the vaccination drive further depends on its availability.
“Some districts have low coverage.
We will plan more coverage as soon as we have sufficient stock.
The stock (covishield) we have now will end in the next four days.
In the case of Covaxin, we have enough 3.4 lakh stock for Bhubaneswar And around one lakh has been sent to Ganjam, “Panigrahi said.
