Mumbai: Nine Months After Covid-19 Bulk Vaccination begins, there are still wide variations in coverage in all civilian companies in the Mumbai Metropolitan area – for the first dose, it ranges from 100% in Bhiwandi.
Mumbai (97%) and Panvel (90.5%) are the others with high coverage compared to Mira-Bhayander (70%), Thane (62%), Kalyan-Dompivli (62%), Ulhasnagar (55%) and Vasai – VRIAR (50%).
TOI spoke with citizenship officials throughout the city who said the gap in smaller areas might be because residents they visited BMC (or NMMC) centers for their first shots.
So, Mumbai might have to vaccinate more than 100% of the target population before resting easily.
“Up to 20% of the shots given in Mumbai are possible for people from other regions,” said an BMC official.
When Mumbai obtained labor from satellite cities, “we thus ensuring that Mumbai and surrounding areas are safer,” the official said.
BMC Executive Health Officer Dr.
Mangala Gomare said he was not aware of the numbers of side by side who had been vaccinated in Mumbai.
According to the rules of Covid vaccination, people can be vaccinated anywhere in this country; Two doses can be taken in various cities.
Vasai Vir Municipal Corporation Medical Health Officer Dr.
Bhakti Chaudhari admitted that the free vaccination center had a slim picture.
“We assume it’s because a large number of adult populations we go to Mumbai and other places for their dosage,” he added.
This is the same story in Thane and Kalyan-dombivli.
A KDMC health official said he believed 10-15% more adult population they were vaccinated than indicated by numbers.
Dr.
Anita Sakpale from Ulhasnagar Municipal Corporation said UMC collected wise data to assess how many vaccinated.
In Bhiwandi, almost half of the 5.11 lakh target population has received the first dose.
“We work with local leaders to change their mindset,” said an official who did not want to be named.
In Mumbai, the additional Commissioner of the Suresh Kakani said the corporate deadline to ensure the first dose coverage of 100% was October 31.
Commissioner NMMC Abhijit Bangar said the 101 vaccine center is now focused on the closure left with the second dose.
In Panvel, Commissioner Ganesh Deshmukh said every resource – from preparing a cellular booth to use Teacher and Maulvis – used to spread the news.
