Nagpur: a week after enforcing mandatory vaccination norms in government offices, visitors seem to be largely eliminated with little attention to the collector command.
In an effort to increase vaccination coverage, district and civil administration has prohibited the entry of people who are not vaccinated by government offices.
On Monday, Tim Tii visited the Nagpur City Nagpur city center headquarters, district collector offices, the high court and regional transportation office (RTO) in Giripeth from Amravati Road to find out the implementation of the norm.
Collector’s office, an employee in the entry point to check the status of visitor vaccination.
More than 600 visitors were examined and only were fully vaccinated which brought evidence that was allowed to continue to meet the R collector of Vimala.
However, there is no verification in the rest of the office in the same place.
When shown, the collector said, “No one is allowed to enter my office without showing evidence of vaccination.
It is very sad if not followed elsewhere, even though we have provided orders for strict implementation.” In NMC, two employees are assigned to verify vaccination status, But they did not stop anyone to confirm it.
One of them said the civilian health team remained only until 2pm and left afterwards.
The health team vaccinates visitors who are not vaccinated if they are willing and then they are directly allowed to enter.
There is no inspection or deployment of any staff in the High Court and RTO.
Tim Toi finds visitors not even wearing masks correctly, which is also mandatory.
