Patna: Patna Regency has secured third place in the state by providing a polio vaccine to 22,390 children from January to June this year.
Therefore, 96% of children have been immunized for a period of six months.
These figures were revealed during the virtual meeting held by the Magistrate District (DM) Chandrashekhar Singh with a civil surgeon and other senior officials on Tuesday for reviewing the health care facilities available on Patna.
He was told that the Pulse Polio drive was launched between June 27 to July 1, it covers almost 8.79 lakh children to the age of five.
DM was told that the work of the oxygen plant installation was taking place in the nine Patna District Hospital.
“The oxygen pipe has been connected to 55 beds at the Subdivisional Barr Hospital,” officials told Singh after that he directed them to train trained operators at the hospital.
Officials also claim that nearly 8,000 people are being tested for Covid-19 every day, but there are no cases of Delta variants found in the Patna district.
“At least 10,000 people must be tested in the district every day,” said DM, adding that more emphasis must be placed on the RT-PCR method.
Singh asked officials to ensure the availability of health facilities to everyone.
“Ensure that the implementation of activities is on time and precisely such as the installation of oxygen plants, regular immunization, and testing,” he said.
