Bhubaneswar: Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) has planned to vaccinate the priority of one Lakh beneficiary in the 15-18 age group to reduce the impact of the possible third wave of Covid.
Commissioner BMC Sanjay Kumar Singh said vaccination of groups of age 15-18 will be accelerated with additional workers if needed.
“Our priority is to provide the first dose to one Lakh beneficiary in the age group 15-18 as soon as possible so they receive the final dose on time to avoid the third wave effect, if any,” he said.
Until Thursday it had given 27,44,462 doses by 13.14,847 people who received the dose.
Interyamami Mishra, Urban Urban Health Officer Urban extra, said that if a cellular immunization van will go to schools and colleges plus-II to manage Jab to 15-18 group beneficiaries.
“We have 35 vaccination sites in current operations, including government and private hospitals.
If needed, the number of sites can be increased,” he said.
