Nagpur: Zilla Parishad (ZP) has planned maternal vaccination from 2.14 lakh children between the age group 0-13 years as part of preparation for the third wave.
The sources told Tii that Dr Archana Patil, director of state health services, on his visit to the district on Friday, stated that the supply of vaccines would likely be simplified in August.
In a press release it was released on Friday, the CEO of ZP Yogesh Kumbhejkar, said, “Because the possibility of the third wave, the State Task Force (STF) has suggested special preferences for the diagnosis and treatment of children.
It will be easy and useful if their mother is vaccinated.

We conducted a survey and found that rural areas consisted of 2.14 lakh children between the age group 0-13 years.
We will vaccinate all these mothers based on priority.
“ZP has assigned Asha workers to visit all villages and cities and set up a list of 2, 14 lakh mother.
Registration and vaccination of these mothers started a few days ago.
Asha workers will meet these mothers gradually to ensure their registration and vaccination.
ZP looks at some of the 2.14 lakh mothers may have taken a dose.
“Nearly 8.80,919 women have taken Jab in the district.
Nearly 18.41,904 people from the district were vaccinated – 14.15.505 (first dose) and 4.26,399 (second dose),” Kumbhejkar said.
ZP has taken various initiatives to vaccinate as many people as possible in district rural areas.

Patil visited several Vidarbha districts for the proposed Filarial Eradication Program.
He held a meeting with the officials of the State Public Health Department, ZP and Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC).

Vaccination will continue in four covaxin centers from NMC for 18-plus on Saturday.
Fresh stocks are expected on Saturday night and inoculation will be continued on Sunday.
