Prayagraj: Kota Sangam witnessed active participation of women recipients for Covid-19 vaccination in the past two months when they described their male colleagues.
In September, from 9,39,300 doses given to all recipients who qualified, the recipient of the woman received 4.78,740 Jab while the number of men recipients was limited to 4,60,502.
Likewise, from 4.36,248 doses given to the recipient between 1 and 17 October, the beneficiary of women took 2,28,276 jab while the recipient of men only got 2.07,248 jab.
Until Monday, more than 14.57 women lakh had taken Jab in Sangam City while the number of recipients of men who received vaccines was 17.77 lakh.
The Ministry of Health official, however, acknowledged that a series of awareness and interaction campaigns in rural areas have helped the authorities to increase the participation of women recipients in vaccination and they now reach the site to be vaccinated.
District immunization officers and additional medical officers, Dr.
Tteiph Lal told the ToI that in the last nine months since the vaccination drive was launched, two months, including January and September, witnessed the highest rejection of women receivers from all age groups in central vaccination.
However, in the rest of the month, the number of men’s recipients is more than female.
The Ministry of Health statistics revealed that in January, a total of 11,054 jab was given to the recipient, which included 3,287 men and 7,767 women.
In February, 51,575 doses were given to 33,969 men, 17,604 women and two transgender people.
In March, 1.17,625 doses were given to 73,807 men, 43.801women and 17 transgender people.
As many as 1,86,853 jab was given in April to 1,08,768 men, 78,055 women and 30 transgender people.
In May, a total of 2.21, 808 doses were given to 1,34,801 men, 86,910 women and 97 transgender people.
Similarly, as many as 2,74,860 Jabswere was given to 1.67,198 men, 1,07,561 women and 101 transgender people in June.
In July, 3,52,925 Jab was given 2,14,550 men, 1,38,248 women and 248 transgender people.
In August, a total of 5,84,496 doses were given to 3,13,523 men, 2,70,657 women and 316 transgender people.
Senior Medical Officer, Dr.
Anupam Dwivedi, meanwhile, said, “The myth of vaccination has been arrested among women and they, especially rural women, now moving towards the location of vaccination without hiccups.
