Noida / Ghaziabad: The waste of vaccines has diminished in both districts and last week, GB Nagar and Ghaziabad noted -4% waste, according to official figures.
On August 4, the total waste recorded in Noida was 0.01% and for Ghaziabad, numbers – 3.41%.
In March, the waste of the Ghaziabad vaccine was recorded at 12% and in Noida, it was 12%.
However, officials say negative waste data is usually checked again with a warning.
“This is a serious claim and we send warnings to certain centers of centers that record these numbers to check whether they provide less than the specified dosage,” said Dr.
Sunil Sharma, Chief Medical Officer, Gautam Budh Nagar.
Dr.
Chand Wattal, Chairperson, Clinical and Immunological Microbiology, Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, New Delhi, said additional doses available in bottles are usually minimal.
“Nurses given vaccines are usually trained and unlikely that they will misjudge the dose with a large margin.
There is also a possibility that the manufacturer adds an additional number of vaccines in each bottle.
But this also cannot be a lot.
Very low waste numbers must be re-examined , “he added.
For Covaxin, 16% waste was recorded in March.
While Ghaziabad currently has a waste -3.71%, for noida, there is no covaxin waste.
In March, the Covishield waste was around 7%.
On August 4, the figure was -3.12% in Ghaziabad and 0.01% in Noida.
Chief Ghaziabad Medical Officer Dr.
Bhavtosh Sankhdhar said the waste -10% was possible.
“All vaccinates have been told to give a dose carefully and efforts are made to use additional vaccine doses packed in each bottle,” he added.
Dr.
VB Jindal, former President Ima (Ghaziabad), echoed him.
“One bottle is intended to vaccinate 10 people and have an additional number of vaccines put into waste,” he said.
