Veggie Drop Prices, Corranti Loans to Sankranti in K’taka

Bengaluru: In the welcome news during the Harvest of Sankranti Makar Festival, the price of vegetables – the north for more than a month – gradually decreases and tends to fall further.
“There is a growth deficit and supply during the rainy season.
Now the weather has been completed, vegetables arrive on the market in adequate quantities, causing prices to fall,” said a Hopcoms official.
The official said the phenomenon of spiking vegetable price festivals had absent Sankranti.
“In the midst of the Covid-19 case increase, only the percentage of people who celebrate the festival.
When demand does not rise, the price remains the same.” The price of carrots, which was very high in November and December, touched RS 190 a kg, down to RS 94 this week .
“Most carrots sold here are planted in Ooty.
Given that Tamil Nadu receives a large amount of rain in October and November, most products are destroyed and the supply chain is cut, causing prices to be shot,” the official said.
The price of nuts has passed RS 100 a kg a month ago, but now Rs 40-45.
Greens for RS 80-90 bundle, but is now available for RS 10-15.
“Greens perishes quickly when it rains.
It’s the same as tomatoes.
Now the weather has stabilized, their prices have dropped,” Hopcoms official said.
