Hyderabad: Vegetable cultivation has been bucked poorly in the Ranga Reddy district close to Hyderabad because heavy rains triggered by Typhoon Gulab, officials said, predicts fresh stock vegetable supplies to the city.

The authorities said the damage was reported from Farooqnagar and Chowdergudem from Shadnagar Mandal, Chevella and Minoabad from Chevella Mandal, Kandukur and Maheshwarram in Maheshwarram, Yacharam, Manchal and Ibrahimpatnam at Ibrahimpatnam Mandal.
In Ibrahimpatnam Mandal, his damage was in 190 hectares, in Maheshwarram in 157 hectares and up to 83 hectares in Shadnagar Mandal.
“This crop damage report is largely due to the condition of the puddle of plants,” Horticulture officers and Sericulture District, Ranga Reddy District, said N Sunana Rani.
“If there is no rain for the next few days, we can hope to revive as many plants as they can be revived,” he said.
Farmers are asked to spend water from the fields.
While around 20 percent of vegetables cultivated in the district were consumed in Ranga Reddy himself, the rest was supplied to the city.
