Coimbatore: Many plastic traffic bollard installed in Dwan Bahadur Road as part of the City City project has been completely damaged by vehicles that speed up on stretching.
City Corporation installed Bollard on the road to introduce a cycling track last month.
The cycle trajectory was introduced by carving a portion of the busy road to push cyclists and create awareness about pedaling.
This initiative is well received by bi-cycle fans.
However, the initiative did not last long because the vehicle was speeding on the road to struck The Bollard and really damaged it.
Pramod Kannah, a bi-cycle fan, said he liked the initiative even though the trajectory was only around 500m.
An official from the Smart City scheme said that the cycling path was introduced as a pilot project.
