Coimbatore: Universitas Bharathiar has instructed an affiliated college to verify international student documents before they were accepted.
Universities, spread in four Western District, get students from Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan, Sri Lanka and African countries such as Ethiopia.
They have been asked to follow new guidelines to recognize students abroad after a student is found to have no documents needed to pursue education in India.
After students are accepted, passport, visa, form C and forms must be forwarded to the university before each exam and to process results.
Universities have also been asked to share details of foreign students currently pursuing courses.
