THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Noted Malayalam poet and lyricist Poovachal Khadar Expired of Covid-related complications in Government Medical College at Thiruvananthapuram on Tuesday.

He was 73.
Khadar was tested positive for Covid-19 on June 8.
He was admitted to the General Hospital from where he was changed to the Medical College.
Khadar has been diagnosed with pneumonia and also placed on a ventilator.
The Medical College police said he wasn’t reacting to medications.
His illness worsened because of multi-organ collapse on Monday night and his departure was verified at 12.15am on Tuesday.
Burial will be kept in Poovachal Juma Masjid on Tuesday.
He’s survived by his wife Amina Beevi, brothers Thushara and Prasoona.
Poovachal Khadar reigned over the Malayalam movie music for over a decade, penning hit intimate tunes.
Khadar composed poems to the movie Kavitha at 1972 and wrote lyrics to the movie Chuzhi.
He composed lyrics to the movie’Kattu Vithachavan’ that was the very first movie to be published.
He had been born in 1948 because the son of Aboobacker Pillai and Rabiyathul Adabiya Beevi in Kattakada at Thiruvananthapuram.
He finished his engineering diploma in the government technology school and worked together with Public Works Department (PWD).
Sararanthal Thiri Thanu, Natha Nee Varum, Anuragini were a few of the favorite songs.
