Mumbai: illegal call center that ties US citizens by offering to sell Viagra and other medicines without medical recipes must be penetrated on Friday by the city police branch crime.
Three people, including the center of the call center operating at night from a rental place in Kalina, has been arrested.
The fraud involved Lakh Rupee, official said.
Call Center employees will call people in the US, use fake names and ask if people at the other end need to buy Viagra or other drugs that must be possessed by medical recipes.
Call Center employees also offer other drugs that cannot be purchased on a table without medical recipes, said a police officer.
These drugs include Cialis, Tapentadol, Soma, Xanax, and Tramadol.
An official said that the call center had an agent in the US who would ask buyers who were interested in depositing money in bank accounts in the US.
“The agent will reduce his commission and send the rest to his hands in Kalina,” the officer said.
“Once the money was accepted, no one was sent to the buyer who would eventually be cheated.” Lakh Rupee’s transaction is transferred through this account and financial records will be studied, said a investigation.
Those who were arrested include Kunal Gupta (26), owners of illegal call centers, and two managerial level agents _ Arshad Sayyed (21) and Faiz Qureshi (20).
They were produced in court who sent them to police custody until Monday.
Police are now hunting for couples at the Call Center, Rahul Jaiswal.
Those who work in the call center make calls using Voice Over Internet Protocol (VOIP) to avoid being found out, the police, said, adding that they had bought US citizen data from DarkNet.
Employees at the call center are paid between Rs 15,000 and Rs 25,000 a month.
The team from the social service branch and the crime branch was led by Ghanshyam Nair officers, Inspector Bhosale raided the call center.
