Vice President Harris arrived in Paris to facilitate French-US tensions

Paris: US Vice President Kamala Harris touched Paris on Tuesday on a mission to further improve relations with France after the crisis was canceled by submarine contracts.
During a four-day visit – the third trip abroad in the office – Harris will meet with French President Emmanuel Macron and attend a peace forum with other world leaders.
He will also participate in the conference about Libya and join a warning for the end of the World War I.
“It is good to be in France and I look forward to a lot, many days of productive discussion strengthen the strength of our relationship,” Harris said when he arrived for the visit.
The visit was announced after subs of serving, and came after the State Secretary Antony Blinken was sent in early October in the first attempt to improve the crisis.
President Joe Biden also tried to redeem a dispute at a meeting with Macron last month, told the French leader that his government had been “awkward” in that way to secure a submarine agreement with Australia.
The agreement, known as the aukus, is part of a new strategic alliance between the US, Australia and England.
It was a contradictory sign from the US since the beginning of the line that saw France considering its ambassadors from Washington and Canberra.
Paris was very angry after the former $ 60 billion pact was beaten by the French defense contractor to sell diesel-powered submarines to Australia.
Harris, who will meet Macron on Wednesday, is expected to confirm Biden’s offer, including discussion about the possibility of US support for the French military mission against Jihadists in Sahel, and to plan to improve European defense capabilities.
“Relations between the United States and France – and also transatlantic relationships between the US and Europe – are very important to us,” said a senior White House official on the trip.
“This is something that is emphasized by Biden candidates throughout the campaign.” Other officials said Harris’s speech at Paris Paris forum on Thursday, which focused on Covid recovery, will discuss “big, convergent global crisis”.
He will also attend a special session in a forum dedicated to the regulatory framework for internet companies, French officials added.
On World War Day Thursday I was heavily, Harris was visiting American suresnes funeral on the outskirts of the capital, they said.
Before returning to Washington, Harris will take part on Friday at the Paris Conference in Libya, a diplomatic boost to promote the peaceful elections that can stem the number of migrants who escape from neglected countries for Europe.
“We want to build a stable and prosperous Libya free of foreign interference and be able to fight terrorism on the border,” the official said.
The vice president had been burned upon his appearance as the administrative point of the American migrant crisis on the US-Mexico border, which critics had deteriorated since Biden came to the office.
