Imphal: Manipur Congress Vice President KH Ratekumar Singh on Sunday resigned from the party post ahead of the election of the Assembly, said the senior party leader.
According to the resignation letter, he left the post but did not resign from the party’s primary membership, said the leader who did not want to be quoted.
The other vice president of the State Congress Unit, Chaltonlien Amo, turned to BJP in power on January 9 from 28 party leaders who were selected as 60 members of the members in the last election, 16 had left the party.
The assembly poll will be held in the state in two phases on February 27 and March 3.
