Hyderabad: Emphasizing the need to protect children from Covid-19, Venkaiiah Naidu vice president on Friday urged the scientific brotherhood to focus on accelerating the development of vaccines against the killer virus for this category, the official release said.
Overcoming scientists and staff Bharat Biotech International Limited after a visit to the factory at the Genome Valley-A Life Sciences Cluster in Hyderabad, he said there was no room for vaccine doubts and urging people to be vaccinated, according to official release.
Naidu emphasized that the vaccination drive against Covid-19 must be PAN-India Jan Andolan and appeal to people to immunize themselves by taking the required vaccine dose.
By asserting that the advantages of vaccination far exceeded the felt deficiency, Naidu said the message had to be pushed home hard and clearly into every corner and corner of the country.
The vice president also suggested media to educate the masses on the advantage of vaccination and urge leaders from the medical brotherhood to educate the public to adopt a healthy lifestyle, along with a shedding vaccine doubt.
He appealed to people to continue using facial masks, physical distance and personal hygiene and urged the leaders of various political parties and their followers to follow the appropriate behavior of Covid.
“It is the task of each of us to act responsibly.
We are unable to invite the third wave,” he warned.
Observing that mutated viruses that constantly cause challenges and force the scientific community to find solutions that will save lives and protect livelihoods, he said, “we must contribute individually and collectively for this national and international efforts.” He said vaccine equipment must be improved quickly and the vaccine must be given as soon as possible.
He, however, expressed confidence that the immunization drive would take steps in the months and then said the center intended to vaccinate all adults who qualified by the end of the year.
Revealing happiness over Hyderabad became a hub for mass vaccines and drugs, Naidu said he was happy noting that it had also turned into a biotechnology hub with the Genome Valley which drives growth in this sector.
