New Delhi: ‘Annadatas’ State (food provider) has made a “vanity of his head” through ‘Satyagraha’, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi said on Friday and described the central decision to revoke agricultural laws as “victory against injustice”.
His statement came after Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in an address to the nation on Friday morning, announced the government had decided to revoke three agricultural laws, which were in the center of protest by farmers over the past year.
“‘Annadatas’ the country has made a vanity bent his head through ‘satyagraha’.
Congratulations on this victory against injustice! ‘Jai Hind, Jai Hind Ka Kisan’,” Gandhi said in a tweet in Hindi.
In other tweets in Hindi, Gandhi said it was also a victory from those who could not return to their homes.
“The defeat is only theirs, who cannot save the life of ‘Annadaatas’ …,” he tweeted with the ‘farmlawsrepealed’ tag and shared pictures of farmers fighting during protests who were looking for legal revocation.
Many farmers have protested and camped at the Delhi border since November 2020 with the demand that farmers produce trade and trade (promotion and facilitation), 2020, farmers’ agreements (empowerment and protection) on agricultural services and agricultural services, 2020 and important commodity acts (Amendment), 2020 rolled back and new laws made to guarantee MSP for plants.
The center, which has held several formal dialogue rounds with farmers, has stated that new laws are pro-farmers, while demonstrators claiming they will be abandoned at the mercy of the corporation because of the law.
