Vid farmers are afraid of other bollworm attacks

Nagpur: Farmers once again reported the incidence of pink bollworm, worst fear for cotton planting.
Cotton is the main plant in Vidarbha.
Last year too, Bollworm had hit cotton output in the region.
The seed makers who have used genetically modified BGII seeds (GM) developed by Monsanto and should be resistant to pests that have faced routine attacks since more than four years.
So far and similar prospects for the coming days, there are fears of higher intensity of pests this year, said farmers and experts.
Pests have been reported in the fields in parts of the region wherever the crops have reached the flowering stage.
From the Ministry of Agriculture also accepted development.
The image will be clear at the end of the month when almost all plants will reach the flowering stage, the source said.
There are reports from pink bollworms on farms in Arvi Taluka from the Wardha district.
“Infestations are above the economic threshold (ETL),” said a senior official in the Department of Agriculture’s Nagpur Division.
ETL is a benchmark to assess whether infestations can affect plants and steps such as spraying pesticides are needed.
There were complaints in the Yavatmal bag and the team had been sent to check the place.
There was a last year’s attack but could be managed, said an official in this district.
“There is no pink bollworm in a plant sap reporting system managed by the department,” an official in the Amravati Division includes Yavatmal Regency.
However, farmers said there was an incident in a bag of flowering places had happened in cotton plants.
“Bolworm pink has been seen on farms in Arni and Mahalgaon Taluka from Yavatmal,” said Manish Jhadav, a farmer from the district group.
Farmers have submitted a memorandum before the district collector in Yavatmal demands that the government provide preventive facilities such as pheromone traps to farmers.
Memorandum also said that even though there was a recurring incident, there was no timely guidance from the Ministry of Agriculture.
Jadhav shares a pest-affected farm video.
Various cotton is influenced by pink bollworm.
May have caused around 30% of the output decrease.
Meanwhile, because pesticides spraying is expected to increase due to pest infestations, new techniques are trying to captivate BolLworm using the aroma of women’s moth.
Hollow cables produce a strong aroma of women’s worms tied with cotton plans.
Male worms are expected to be interested in the wire and eventually disturbed.
This can prevent breeding and worms that have short life will die before mating.
The South Asian Biotechnology Center (SABC) and the Agrovision Foundation are conducting experiments in 300 hectares of agricultural land in the plot in Warora and dubbed the largest agricultural experiments of their type in this country.
