Vidarbha witnessed the third stage of the omicron wave in the first month of 2022

Nagpur: January has become the most dramatic month for the Vidarbha area as far as Covid conditions.
Covid waves dominated by Omicron began in December last week, took momentum in January the first week, reaching the peak in the fourth week of January and showed a dramatic decline in three to four days in a month.
This means, the first month 2022 has seen the beginning, peak and decreases – the third stage of the omicron wave.
January looked at the highest number of Covid cases (1,24,083) and death (201) after June 2021.
This month also reported the highest recovery (81,376) after May 2021.
Although the number is more, the severity of the disease and the death rate is very low compared to the top two Previous waves.
In the first wave of Covid which lasted for about five months, more than 200 deaths were reported for the first time in July 2020.
This month, Kasel was only 10,323.
The second wave began in February 2021.
When more than 1 lakh case was reported for the first time in March 2021, the death toll was 1.455.
In the third wave, January reported more than 1 lakh case with 201 deaths.
The case fatality rate is only 0.16%.
Even inpatient has declined a little, oxygen requirements have become a rare need and almost nil ventilators in January.
According to the doctor, vaccination has played an important role.
“Omicron variants as a whole are less malignant than previous strains but our immunity also increases due to vaccination.
This is why the majority of patients recover quickly and death has fallen,” said Anand Thatte’s epidemiology.
Specialist from infectious diseases from Nitin Shinde shared important data.
“The level of influenza and the upper respiratory virus over the other month is in accordance with the ICMR data.
So all the upper respiratory infections are omicron except proven otherwise,” he said.
This means, many of us have suffered from omicron infections even without symptoms.
Experts have estimated that a surge will end in mid-February and pandemics will soon enter endemic mode.
