Vidarbha’s artist is not sure about Covid’s worthness

Nagpur: Even when the Maharashtra government has announced it will provide Covid aid one RS5,000 to the people registered and perform artists throughout the country, those who are in Skeptical Vidarbha whether they will qualify for it or not.
According to the state government, around 8,000 artists were registered as people and artists who did in Mumbai, suburbs of Mumbai, Thane, and Pune, while 48,000 were registered throughout Maharashtra.
Many of the many original folk artists from Vidarbha have not been registered on any government platform.
Dilip Kosare is the coordinator ‘Rangakarma Group of Transming Artistes Folk in Vidarbha.
He said, “This pandemic has created a survival problem for artists who get their bread and butter by appearing on public shows such as the village exhibition.
Through the media we know about government assistance.
But, when and how it is still unknown,” he said.
Zadipatti Theater is quite popular in the Chandrapur district, Gondia and Gadchiroli.
Artists here are also awaiting assistance from the government.
“More than 80% of artists and technicians in Zadipatti work on daily wages.
Most of them have no choice but leave the creative field and work as laborers,” Kiran Karemore said, an artist.
Officials of the Directorate of Cultural Affairs, Maharashtra, who were to speak to state that a careful survey of work artists would be carried out before it was distributed.
According to a senior official from the Directorate, the State initially agreed to provide RS5,000 per artist who qualified to those who would meet the requirements.
“We have a list of senior artists who get the retirement benefits of the state government, but we have to conduct a survey and prepare a fresh list of active artists who still depend on the theater, do art for their livelihoods,” the official said.
The state has allocated RS1 Crore separately for this survey and artist registration, the official said.
Apart from traditional art and Zadipatti theater, Vidarbha also has a large number of artists working in the band and conducting Bhajan, Kirtan, Bharud, Gondhal, Jagran, Powada, Dombari, Lezyme, Potaraj, Pingla, Bharad and People’s Art.
The proposal helps the artist likely be placed at a Tuesday cabinet meeting.
After being approved by the Cabinet, government resolution with complete SOPs will be released.
The artist is waiting for the government to help with enthusiasm.
“It’s too late.
Further delays will create life and death problems for us,” Mahesh Lanjewar, a people’s singer from the Gondia.
