Videos show that the last Afghanistan strike may have targeted assistance workers: Reports

WASHINGTON: Video analysis shows the United States may have mistakenly targeted assistance workers rather than Islamic state fighters in their final attacks in Afghanistan which killed 10 civilians, said the New York Times Friday.
The Pentagon said that it disrupted the new attack planned by the Islamic extremist group through the Reaper drone attack on August 29 – the day before US troops ended their 20-year mission and followed a devastating attack outside the airport where the vast crowd rushed to leaving the Taliban who won.
But residents of Kabul Aimal Ahmadi previously told AFP that the strike killed 10 civilians including his small daughter, nephew, nephew and his brother Ezmarai Ahmadi, who drove a parked car.
The New York Times, analyzing recording security cameras, said the US military might have seen Ahmadi killed and water tubes that load water, which in short supply after the collapse of the government supported by the West, and took a laptop for his boss.
Ezmarai Ahmadi is an electric engineer for nutrition and educational lobby groups based on California and international education and himself among thousands of Afghans who have submitted resettlement requests in the United States, said relatives.
US officials said that a larger explosion occurred after the drone drone showed that there were explosives in the vehicle.
But the New York Times investigation said there was no evidence of the second explosion, with only one dent at the nearest gate and there were no clear signs of additional explosions such as exploding walls.
Aimal Ahmadi previously told AFP that 10 civilians were killed.
US officials have recognized three civil deaths but argued that the hit prevented other deadly attacks.
Commenting on the report, a spokesman for the Pentagon John Kirby said that the US Central Command “continues to assess” attacks but “no other military works harder than we do to prevent civilian victims.” “As chairman (Mark) Milley said, strikes are based on good intelligence, and we still believe that it prevents threats that will occur soon at the airport and for our men and women who are still serving at the airport,” Kirby said, referring to US generals top.
The New York Times noted that rocket attacks the next morning, claimed by the Islamic State group, was carried out from the Toyota Corolla similar to Ahmadi.
More than 71,000 Afghan civilians and Pakistan have died directly from the war launched by the United States after the September 11, 2001 attacks, with victims increased dramatically after the President Donald Trump the involvement regulations in 2017, according to a Brown University study in April.
