Hanoi: The first international tourist touched Vietnam almost 20 months after the Southeast Asian country closed his border to load Coronavirus.
Two charter flights brought more than 400 passengers who were fully vaccinated by South Korea and Japan from Seoul and Tokyo on Thursday to the South Nha Trang resort city, the state media reported.
This area is popular among golfers, beach lovers, and scuba divers, and offers luxury hotels.
Flights came to the front of the Vietnam plan to reopen the Island of the Phu Quoc resort to activate foreign visitors on November 20 – with the hope of welcoming at least 5,000 travelers in a few months.
Foreign tourists who try to enter Vietnam must show the Covid-19 vaccination certificate and the results of the negative pre-departure coronavirus test.
Communist countries are desperate to revive the severe economy after months are locked.
The border has been closed to international visitors since March last year and almost no commercial flights entered the country.
Vietnam was widely praised for handling the pandemic last year, with only dozens of known Koronavirus cases.
But from April, the Delta variant was very transplanting successful.
Vietnam has since recorded more than one million infections and nearly 23,000 deaths, when they randomized to secure sufficient vaccines for 100 million inhabitants.
So far, around 32 percent of people have been fully vaccinated.
