Thiruvananthapuram: The government has ordered an investigation of the benefits of complaints raised against the leader of the K Sudhakaran Congress, who was involved in a verbal duel with the head of Pinarayi Vijayan immediately after taking over as the KPCC president.
Director (Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau) Sudesh Kumar has ordered a preliminary investigation into the complaints submitted by the former driver of Sudhakanan Prasanthan Babu.
Probes will be carried out by SP (vigilance), the Kozhikode unit.
The complainants alleged that Sudhakanan had gathered a lot of wealth through several businesses.
The complainants alleged that Sudhakan tried to take ownership of high school in Chirakkal in Kannur after buying it on behalf of Karunakan Trust.
There is extensive fundraising on behalf of trust and there are some deviations in the construction of the DCC office in Kannur, he accused.
There are also charges in complaints that Sudhakanan has built a house worth Rs 6 Crore and he uses several upscale cars, without knowing the source of income.
Sudhakaran has recently been involved in verbal duel with Vijayan for the problems that occurred on the Brennen College government campus in Thalassery, a few decades ago, when they were still students.
