Villagers on the outskirts of the forest live in fear

Mysuru: Most of the villagers in the suburbs of the reserve forest live in fear of wild animals attacking them or their livestock.
With the appearance of large cats that often include tigers and elephants near their villages on the outskirts of bandipur and Nagarahole, people here live in fear.
In the last week, residents in the anthrome area in HD Kote in Mysuru District saw a tiger and leopard.
There was an incident of attack on livestock.
People demand authority to help them live in peace.
They don’t roam from their homes as precautions.
Forest officials continue their search for big cats.

Former Warden Warden Honorary Rajkumar D claimed around two dozen villages in the outskirts of the bandipur forest considered as high-pressure areas when tigers, leopard and elephants often occur.
There are also around 80 villages where villagers are afraid to raid their plants by elephants or attack their livestock by big cats.
The main reason for the tiger that comes out of the forest is due to old age or injury or pushed out of the region by dominant adults.
Because there is a healthy tiger population in the reserve forest, leopards have been sheltered in the suburbs.
Elephant corridor disorders and patterns of plants that change elephants to human residences, he said.
A forest officer claimed sometimes the villagers created confusion over tigers’ sightings for leopards.
“We have a dedicated team to handle the situation during human-animal conflict and immediately hunt our personnel to the place on every alarm call,” he said.
