Villagers warn against hunting forest boar

Tirupur: The Department of Forest officials have issued a violent warning to villagers bordering wild forests after three men hunting forest boar.
The people arrested were identified as Dhandapani, Tamil Mani and Magudeeswaran from Kuppampalayam Village in the Kolumam range.
Officials have received a tip-off of the trio, which cooking wild boar on Saturday.
A team arrested them and produced it at the Judicial Panali Magistrate Court.
The people claimed that they did not kill the animal and the wild boar was found dead.
“They said they had cut some meat from the carcass and cook it.
Laboratory tests will be made to find the cause of death,” said an official.
“Not all villagers enjoy such activities.
We have issued a hard warning.”
