Vinod Kumar Thrower Discus loses Paralympics Bronze

Tokyo: Throwering Discus India Vinod Kumar on Monday Lost a bronze medal Category F52 in Paralympics here after being found not qualifying in the assessment of the classification of disability by the competition panel.
The 41-year-old BSF man, whose soldier’s father who was injured during the Indo-Pakistani war in 1971, produced the best throws of 19.91 million to complete the third behind Piotr Kosewicz (20.02m) from Poland and Velimir Sandor (19.98m) from Croatia on Sunday.
However, the results are challenged by several competitors.
“…
the panel cannot allocate Vinod Kumar athletes from Indian NPCs with sports classes and athletes appointed as a classification of not finished (CNC),” said the organizer in a statement.
“Therefore the athlete does not qualify for men’s F52 Discus Medal and the result in the competition is not valid,” he added.
F52 is for athletes with grief muscle strength, limited movement range, limb deficiency or differences in foot length, with athletes who compete in sitting positions with cervical strap injuries, spinal cord injury, amputations, and functional disorders.
Athletes are classified depending on the type and level of their disability.
The classification system allows athletes to compete with those who have the same level of ability.
Vinod classification was carried out on August 22.
