Patna: At least 40 people, including six software engineers and two doctors, arrested from different hotels in the city in the last two days both to consume liquor or have it.
However, no one was arrested on Sunday when the hotel authority became tight while dealing with their customers remembering a massive raid by the police in the last two days.
Commissioner of the Division of Patna Sanjay Kumar Agarwal will hold a meeting with a different hotel authority on Monday and ask them to take business from visitors that they will not consume liquor at the hotel.
Patna SSP Upendra Kumar Sharma said the police did not leave the stone missed to ensure the implementation of strict liquor prohibitions in the city.
Six software engineers were arrested from Fortune hotels in Kanakarbagh and two doctors (a man and female) from a room at the Ginger Hotel under the Kotwali police station area in the city with bottle of liquor on Saturday.
Meanwhile, the police had booked the owner of the Fortune Hotel and his manager to consume liquor by guests.
However, in the case of the Ginger Hotel, only the manager was made named accused.
Hotel Ginger is owned by a multinational group based in Jharkhand.
Sho from the Cankarbagh Police Station Ravishankar Kumar said the senior authorities would decide on the actions to be taken against the owner and hotel manager that was opposed by the firs.
Sho of Kotwali Police Station Sunil Kumar Singh said because Hotel Ginger was owned by a business group, his manager was ordered.
SSP said the police would continue to invade hotels in the city to enforce the prohibitions at least to the conclusions of the wedding season.
