Kolkata / Nadia: CBI on Saturday arrested two people in connection with the alleged killing of BJP Dharma Mandal workers in Chapra Nadia.
This was the first arrest made by the central agent because Calcutta High Court asked him to investigate cases of violence after the poll in Bengal.
The CBI has also initiated 10 firs, increasing the total number of cases to 21.
The CBI source said accusing Bijoy Ghosh and Asima Ghosh, the two members of Hridaypur Gram Panchayat, were present in the village on May 14, Mandal Day died.
They will be presented before the CBI court specifically on Sundays.
In his complaint, Ayan’s victim’s brother claimed that some people beat relatives when the mandal intervened.
He was attacked with a sharp weapon by one Ujjal Ghosh and he suffered a fatal injury.
Ayan accused that their family was targeted because the results of the poll were stated on May 2 because of his relationship with BJP.
Chapra Mla Rukbanur Rahman said the name Bijoy and Asima did not look for in FIR.
“Those who were originally named all were arrested.
Then, CBI included more names.
We wanted to be accused of being arrested, but people would not let harassment,” Rahman added.
On Saturday, the CBI team faced resistance from locals when they reached Chapra.
The team is conducting a search in 15 locations in connection with the mandal case.
Alleged that the CBI car tire was stabbed.
“One of the CBI officers criticized Duyard Sarkar’s scheme and people reacted,” said the local MLA.
However, the North Nadia Convena BJP Arjun Biswas said the team was attacked when trying to make arrests.
