Violence at Jehanabad after youth killed himself

Patna: Violence erupted in Jehanabad after a young man was detained by the police to be interrogated in a case of bicycle theft, allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself using a cellphone wire charger in the toilet where the Ghosi police station on Thursday morning.
This is the second violence at Jehanabad within two weeks.
On July 24, a woman Havildar Kanti Devi (54) was destroyed to death, at least 15 personnel more police officers including DSP Trainee was injured at the NH-110 near Nehalpur Bazaar under the Bigha Police Station in Clashagers and the police.
The villagers protested the death of Govind Majhi (25) who died in Daudnagar prison (temporary prison for quarantine) the night before.
He was arrested for alleged smuggling of liquor on July 19.
He came from Stata Village near Nehalpur Bazar.
In the case of ghosi, the young man who had died was Grijesh Yadav (24), a native of Lakhawar Village under the Ghosi Police Station.
The Grijesh family has accused that he was tortured in police custody.
The villagers and families who irritable surrounded the Ghosi police station, took their bodies with themselves and began protesting after that the violence erupted and the police clash took place.
Some police were injured as a result of stingling heavy stones carried out by villagers Irate during the clash.
The source said the criminal elements opened fire at least two police turns but no one was injured.
They said the police also had to open fire at least two in the air to reply and dissolve the crowd.
However, Jehanabad SP was a protected Ranjan officially denied a shot by the police.
“Yes, I want to know about two rounds fired at the police by criminal elements in the middle of the crowd,” he said.
Ranjan, talking to Toi by telephone from Spot said the police had a backup CCTV camera from the station where Grijesh was seen entered into the toilet with a charger wire that used it suicide after tying it to the iron grill.
He said that in the tape, it was seen that he tried to hurt himself with a wire in the room before but could not succeed.
“The police broke the toilet door to bring it out but at that time he died.
All of these took place around 10:30 a.m.,” he said.
SP said there was no sign of injury to Griresh’s body.
“Only a ligature sign seen in the neck.
He was taken to the station for a quiz in a case of bicycle theft on Wednesday night,” he said.
SP also said Grijesh had been jailed several times before in a criminal case including bicycle theft and because of an anteceden like that, he was taken to quiz after the incident had recently happened.
Ranjan said an officer on duty at the station and Chowkidar, who was supposed to supervise the young man, had been suspended due to dereltionsi task.
“The villagers have tried to damage the station but they cannot.
The police control the previous situation,” he said.
