Karachi: Former Pakistani captain Shahid Afridi felt Indian captain Virat Kohli had to go down from the leadership role in all game formats to develop as a batsman for his country.
Speaking on the television channel Samaa, Afridi said that the BCCI decision to appoint Rohit Sharma as the Indian T20 captain was good.
This was after Kohli released the T20 captain at the end of the Indian T20 World Cup campaign.
“I think he has become an extraordinary power for Indian cricket but I think it would be better if he decided to retire as captain in all formats now,” said Afridi.
