Visakhapatnam: The middle-aged person from the Vepagunta area in Port City is suspected of being trapped to be naked on video calls and squeezed by scammers.
They extorted Rs.
24 lakh from the victim with the pretext of sharing his nude video to family members and friends.
Police Cybercrime captured three accused included women – Shaik Abdul Raheem (30) from DabbetaPalli in Krishna District, Gunda Jyothi (28), and Gunda Veera Satish (34) from Jeedimetla in Hyderabad – for fishing and squeezing it with the nude video clip was sent by that person.
The police also recovered Rs.
3.5 lakh, laptop, five smartphones, three basic phones and three ATM cards from ownership of the people accused.
The incident occurred on July 16 when the complainant received a message from the unknown bulk sms number ‘called me at any time, I am your best friend to talk’.
He called the number and they gave a female number to contact.
Women asked him to send nude video calls and believe in his words complainants making nude video calls.
The next day, the people accused began to threaten the complainant by sending screenshots of nude video calls and demanding money, for fear of complainants to keep almost a number of hospitals.
24 lakh to various bank accounts provided by the defendant.
Even after paying money, the defendant demanded more money.
He filed a complaint at the cyber police, who made a heavy effort and arrested the person accused.
