TNEW DELHI: India on Friday declared tha visas of thieves stranded because of Covid-induced non-availability of global flights would be deemed valid until August 31, 2021.
The Union home ministry (MHA) in an announcement said that several overseas nationals who came into India before March 2020 on legal Indian visas had started stranded because of”non-availability of regular commercial flights…

MHA needed on June 29, 2020, issued an order that Indian visa or remain stipulation span of these foreign nationals dying post June 30, 2020, will be regarded as valid till 30 more days by the date of resumption of regular global flight operations.

“The issue has been reconsidered from the MHA from the light of non-resumption of ordinary business flight operations, and it has therefore been determined that the Indian visa or remain stipulation span of these overseas nationals stranded in India is going to be deemed deemed to be valid until August 31, 2021, on gratis foundation without recourse of any overstay punishment.
These foreign nationals won’t have to submit any software to the FRRO/FRO involved for expansion of the creditors,” MHA invoice states.
“Such overseas nationals may apply for a exit consent to the FRRO/FRO worried prior to departing the nation, which might be allowed on gratis foundation without levy of any overstay penalty,” it provides.
India had suspended scheduled international flights March 23, 2020, and the same will be to restart.
