Coimbatore: More than 100 people have visited a botanical garden at the Tamil Nadu Agricultural University here every day, since the park was thrown into the public on Wednesday after the state government loosened the rules to open parks and gardens.
More and more people are used to visit on Sundays, but the park is closed on Sunday in accordance with the Covid-19 restriction guidelines.
“This 113-year-old garden has many new features now, including factory conservatories, garden parks, island parks, sculpture parks, interesting pergola, water parks with a variety of water lily collections, tree cottages, bird maintenance and rabbits and solar powered lights and Solar powered lights, “said an official.
Children’s garden has also been upgraded with a safe path and playing equipment.
An interesting and informative sign board has been placed in the appropriate place to guide visitors to various garden features spread in a large area.
All plants and trees have been labeled using the QR code system to help students and information on public access about them easily, the official said.
The park was closed in April 2021 when Covid cases began to increase.
While the state government allowed the park and park to open from last Monday, TNAU Botanical Garden opened only on Wednesday because of several maintenance work.
