PUDUCHERRY: Madras High Court has directed Pondicherry University to fill registrant posts and examination controllers before the end of November this year.
The court heard the petition submitted by the Non-Teaching Staff Association of Pondicherry University (Puntswa) which was looking for directions to the university to fill up vital posts registrants, inspection controllers, financial officers and librarians.
The first bench from the chairman of Judge Sanjib Banerjee and Justice P D Audikesavalu refused to recognize university requests to provide three months to fill up.
“Because both positions are the main post, the need to fill it cannot be too emphasized.
The university must immediately take the right steps to ensure that the selection process is complete, so that people appointed join each post at the end of November at the end of November .

The previous university stated that the right steps had been taken, but, mainly due to the second surge in Covid-19 pandemic, the process could not be resolved.
University further states that the entire implementation of the appointment of registrars and inspection controllers can be completed within three months or more.
Varsity shows that the puja holiday that occurs and the next-break-rest must be considered and requested by the High Court to provide three months to complete the process.
However, the High Court directed the University to fill vital posts before the end of next month.
In the petition, President Puntwa K Kaleeperumal shows that the university issued a record of recruitment on September 8 years to fill out registrar posts, examination controllers and other vital posts.
Universities, who receive 71 applications for registers and 53 applications for inspection control posts, filtered and elected candidates who meet the requirements but fail to complete the recruitment process and fill posts.
