Moscow: President Vladimir Putin on Wednesday praised Russian “model” relationship with China in a call with Chinese leader Xi Jinping and confirmed he would attend the Beijing Olympics, because the two countries faced increased criticism from the West.
Video calls came a few days after Foreign Minister G7 discussed Saber Moscow against the crackdown of Ukraine and Beijing in Hong Kong and Xinjiang.
The talk also came after Russia and China sharply left from the peak of US President Joe Biden’s democracy last week.
“In February we will finally be able to meet directly in Beijing,” Putin said in a television broadcast from the conversation after he said he would attend the match, call XI “good friend”.

“I consider this relationship as a real model for inter-state cooperation in the 21st century,” said Russian leader.
After the call, the Top Kremlin Yury Top Foreign Policy Advisor said that the conversation between “two great friendly countries” had lasted 90 minutes and “very positive”.
“Both stated that the relationship had reached a high level that was unprecedented,” he told reporters.
The US and its allies have for weeks accusing Russia planning the neighbor’s invasion of the former neighbor of Ukraine, a warning of large-scale coordinated sanctions must place an attack.
