Vladimir Putin Hails ‘Model’ Russian-Chinese Relationships in Xi Calls

Moscow: President Vladimir Putin on Wednesday praised Russian “model” relationship with China in a call with Chinese leader Xi Jinping and confirmed he would attend the Beijing Olympics, because the two countries faced increased criticism from the West.
Video calls came a few days after Foreign Minister G7 discussed Saber Moscow against the crackdown of Ukraine and Beijing in Hong Kong and Xinjiang.
The talk also came after Russia and China sharply left from the peak of US President Joe Biden’s democracy last week.
“In February we will finally be able to meet directly in Beijing,” Putin said in a television broadcast from the conversation after he said he would attend the match, call XI “good friend”.
“The relationship between China-Russia has survived with all kinds of stern tests, and shows new dynamics and vitality,” said the Chinese state news agency Xinhua reported XI.
He also accused “international forces” interference in China and Russia in the name of democracy and human rights and “trampling” in international law, according to the statement of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
“China and Russia must develop more common actions to maintain security and interest in both parties,” added the statement.
The United States, Britain, Canada and Australia did not send political representatives to the Olympics for Chinese Uyghurs abuse and most other Muslim minorities in Xinjiang.
Beijing and Moscow condemned diplomatic boycotics and Putin on Wednesday said the two leaders opposed “every effort to politicize the sports and movement of the Olympics”, a Russian criticism has been repeatedly flattened in the West.
Russia was found to have used the country-supported doping program in the 2014 winter match in Sochi and was banned from international competitions afterwards.

Russian officials including Putin were banned from attending international competitions unless invited by the head of the host state.
Xi has invited Putin to attend.
Both China and Russia have seen their relationship with Western countries worsen in recent years and have tried to project a more integrated front.
On Wednesday, Putin told XI that “the new cooperation model has been formed between our country” which includes “determination to change our shared borders into a belt of eternal peace and a good environment”.
“I consider this relationship as a real model for inter-state cooperation in the 21st century,” said Russian leader.
After the call, the Top Kremlin Yury Top Foreign Policy Advisor said that the conversation between “two great friendly countries” had lasted 90 minutes and “very positive”.

Russia rejected allegations and blamed west to tense tensions.
In a call on Tuesday with French and Finland leaders, Putin said he wanted security talks with the United States and NATO to start without delay.
Russian demands include stopping NATO from expanding the east and the spread of weapons in neighboring countries, including Ukraine.
China’s relations with many Western allies have been crater in recent years during a number of problems – ranging from trade and security to Beijing’s human rights record and oath to seize Taiwan, which he claimed.
