Vadodara: With the Supreme Court ordering the Gujarat government to make uniform parking policies for all civil bodies, Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) has brought its proposed policy from cold storage.
VMC has compiled a parking policy after the state urban development department was written for that in 2018.
The policy was submitted to the Civic Agency Committee on March 23 last year.
The committee did not make decisions about policies and agendas postponed.
The selected wing term also ended later and the new board was formed after the election.
However, parking policies remained untouched and never taken for discussion again by the standing committee.
The feeling of urgency was felt by the civil bodies regarding parking policy after the Secretary of the Head of the Urban Development Department asked all civil bodies to complete the parking policy and send it to the state government.
The department has been ordered by the APEX court to provide a written statement about the implementation of the policy on September 14 when the next hearing is scheduled.
The VMC standing committee will discuss the policy at its meeting on Thursday.
It is hoped that the committee will clean it in this meeting itself and will be placed before the Civic General Council.
