VMC faces uphill tasks cleaning the livestock road

Vadodara: With the state government and BJP interested in ending the threat of livestock in big cities, Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) has its work.
But ending this problem proved to be a frightening task.
While long-term solutions may take time, drive all the time to keep livestock away from the streets also does not produce the desired results because someone must negotiate between cattle animals while driving on the road.
However, livestock owners began to ensure that animals did not reach the main road to avoid they crossed by the authorities.
But it has produced a new problem in several city pockets where interior roads are now taken over by livestock.
Director of VMC Removal of Enforcement of Envantation, Security and Park and Park, Dr.
Mangesh Jaiswal said that according to rude estimates based on the 2019 livestock census there were around 19,000 cattle in the city.
This is stored by around 2,300 families.
At the other end, VMC has not given permission to everyone or organization to look after livestock within the city limits.
Jaiswal said that since VMC adopted the norm not to release livestock confiscated without registering violations, the number of livestock has not increased in the city.
“Many people have stopped guarding livestock in the city and have empty space they use for livestock maintenance,” he said.
VMC has begun the process of identifying animal ponds in the city and asking them to apply for licenses.
The road back in 2015, VMC officials also prepared legal models for regulations and restrictions to guard livestock within city limits.
This draft was sent to the state government, but nothing was heard about it later.
After changing the guard at VMC, there seems to be no bother about the draft.
