VNIT closes the campus after 4 students testing positive covid

Nagpur: The Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology (VNIT) in the city has closed the campus after four students were declared positive Covid and asked all students to return home.
Classes will, however, continue in online mode.
Infection broke on campus after BTECH students began to arrive in batches between December 20 and 23 for physical classes.
About 600 students have reached a campus for teaching in class, scheduled to reopen from January 3, the first time after the pandemic began last year.
The institution has also stopped all physical classes for MTech and PhD students, which have begun again attending people since November 15.
They should be on campus to attend practicals.
Now, February 18 has been set as a new date to restart the physical class, depending on the Covid situation that applies at that time.
The agency’s decision has landed many students, especially from distant places and foreign countries, in confusion.
For foreign students, it is almost impossible to return as tickets have skyrocketed almost RS50,000 one way.
The decision hasn’t come down both with students.
“It’s not fair.

We will never go to campus again.
We have been eager to wait for teaching in class, campus life and hands on experience,” some students to Ti.
Additional City of Commissioner Ram Joshi said positive students Covid has shifted to the MLA Hostel Covid Care Center and AIIMS Nagpur.
