Nagpur: Apart from the delay in covid-induced locking and taking work from many professionals in all sectors, the City-Based VisvesVaraya National Institute (VNIT) has seen one of the best campus drives since 2016 as 16 BTECH students from 2021-22 each got a package RS36 lakh per year.
Among the highest landing packages this year, 12 are included in computer science and engineering, three comes from electronic and communication, and one from electricity and electronics.
A total of 161 from BTECH 2021-22 has so far been placed on the drive, where more than 50 companies are registered for advanced placements.
More than 30 students have received offers worth more than RS20 Lakh per year.
Students accept job offers within 15 days of drive, which is still ongoing.
Batch 2020-21 had previously posted recording of 527 recruitment students from 800 candidates who qualified.
They were employed by more than 130 companies not included in campus placement.
The placement process for 20-21 batches was delayed due to the pandemic scenario.
About 150 students chose higher education at the famous national and international universities.
PM Padole, Director, VNIT, said, “Based on feedback from the past few years, four professional communications, programming languages, domain knowledge and other work skills – were identified for training students with each department.” Director added that the training server and full-made intelligence-based placement are installed for automatic training, artificial tests and student Mock interviews, and their automatic note maintenance by the Institute.
“It really helps batch 2021-22, as seen in placement notes,” he said.
The average package has so far around RS16 lakh per year.
“This is a big increase in the average package,” said KM Bhurchandi, Associate Dean (training and placement).
Large entrepreneurs who drives the campus placement for this year’s batch including Oracle, Dee Shaw, Morgan Sachs; While many PSUs are like IOCL, C-dot and the international brand are in the pipe, Padole said.
Director has praised the strict academic and training efforts taken by the Coordinator of the Faculty of Anupam Kher, Manasi Radke, Bhurchandi and VNIT Administration.
VNIT is ranked 27th in the NIRF 2020, which is four positions ahead of ranking 2019.
VNIT is ranked 11th and 25 among national interest institutions and central universities by Ariia (Atal Ranking institution about achieving innovation) .
It was well done in rankings and other surveys for educational institutions including those carried out by the Times group.
