Nagpur: The Visvesvaraya National Engineering Institute (VNIT) will negotiate 1,134 degrees and 46 medals for students contributed to September 15 during the 13th convocation ceremony, which will be held online for the second year in a row.
September 15 was celebrated as the day of the engineer to commemorate the birthday of Birthday Bharat Ratna Sir M Visvervarya.
Union Minister Nitin Gadkari will be the main guest while Shekhar Mande, Director General, Scientific Council and Industrial Research (CSIR) will be a guest of honor.
The degree will be given among the Doctoral Degree in Philosophy, Master of Technology, Master of Science, Bachelor of Technology in various technical disciplines and scholars of architecture students.
The highest is 634 degrees belonging to the BTECH course.
Overcoming a press conference, director VNIT Pramod Padole said the Institute has now started a new MTech Interdisciplinary course about the engineering applied to Medical Sciences (EAMS) has been introduced this year.
“Mtech in biomedical techniques is taught in relationships with AIIMS Nagpur and famous doctors including Dr.
Satish Deopujari,” he said.
Padole said the Premier Institute would receive RS2 Crore from the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) for its incubation center on campus.
Siemens Center of Excellence will be named after former Chairman of Vnit Vishram Jamdar, who died last year.
This center has been established in the 4.0 industrial domain and digitization by pushing on biomedical engineering, robotics, smart manufacturing, consisting of 12 major laboratories with upscale machines, he said.
Padole said VNIT had begun the construction of a large swimming pool according to international standards through sponsors of alumni associations.
Taking a lesson from a pandemic, Padole said VNIT would have a 20 bed hospital for staff and students, beside the oxygen plant.
The factory will serve citizens if needed, he said.
Padole said the old auditorium had been upgraded with complete makeover.
A few years ago, Gadkari has expressed disappointment during the Iim-N meeting in the auditorium on defective structural design.
Padole said, “It is a concern that VNIT is a big institution and it must have a better auditorium.
The renovated hall will have a capacity of 1,300.
