Letter: Veer Narmad South Gujarat University (VNSGU) Senate on Saturday approved several certification policies (MCP) as part of the drive to implement national education policies (NEP).
Large changes in academic format are being introduced at universities that aim to benefit students.
Students, so far, are awarded the Bachelor or Postgraduate Course Certificate only after the Clearing Exam of all semesters.
But under MCP, a student will get a digital certificate after completing every year.
Digital certificates will be verified online by the person concerned.
In the UG Six semester course, students who remove two semesters will be given a certificate to complete the Certificate course.
In terms of cleaning four semesters, a student will get a certificate for the Diploma course.
Likewise in the case of the PG course, a student will get a digital certificate if they delete the first two semesters.
Students can obtain transcripts for completed semesters that can be used to enter other higher education institutions.
“We are trying to activate a flexible curriculum that allows several entries and exits for students.
A student can receive entrance tickets or leave anytime without much a bad impact on academic records,” said K Chavda, Representative of Chaves, VNSGU.
As part of the NEP, a PhD student can conduct research in the field that requires an in-depth study of various subjects.
In such cases, a student can complete research under some guidelines.
With the implementation of NEP, university teachers must bring major changes in the course structure, various study councils will begin the process.
“We have 44 study boards and minute details to implement the NEP will be done.
NEP takes effect in VNSGU and students can use it now,” Chavda added.
